The sport received the award for the "Best Popular Vote Game" by the Google Play Store in 2019. In May 2020, Free Fire has done the record with 80 million users active daily globally. In November 2019, Free Fire has grossed over $1 billion users globally.

Garena Free Fire is an online-only action-adventure battle royale game played from a person's perspective.


50 players falling from a parachute on land to find guns and attachments to kill enemies. Players may select their starting position, take guns and equipment to make a good battle.


Players start matchmaking then they're in a plane, flying on the island. When the plane is flying through the island, the players jump out from the plane and find their favorite place, thus allowing them to settle on a strategic place to land far away from enemies. After arriving, the players have to find weapons and other items. Equipment, guns, grenades, and other items found on the island. The last alive player or squad wins the match. The sport had received a serious update on Monday, December 7, 2020, that brought changes to the training ground because it introduced some updated guns. The sport received its next major patch update on Pan American Day 2021 which introduced a replacement map Bermuda Remastered permanently and a replacement in-game weapon Kord during this update.

It's particularly popular in Latin American, India, and Southeast Asia. It grossed approximately $19.3 million in monthly revenues through December 2018, becoming a big financial success for Garena. In February 2020, Free Fire has downloaded by 500 million users.


At the end of Q1 2021, Free Fire surpassed PUBG Mobile in revenues within the US, generating $100 million in turnover as compared to PUBG's $68 million. Free Fire's revenues jumped by 4.5x as compared to an equivalent period for the previous year.
